Defense minister: UAVs are in service in all branches of Belarus’ army

MINSK, 31 July (BelTA) – Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin has congratulated active and retired military and civilian personnel of the Department for Unmanned Aerial Systems of the Armed Forces of Belarus on the 15th anniversary of its formation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Defense Ministry.

“31 July marks the 15th anniversary of the Department for Unmanned Aerial Systems of the Armed Forces of Belarus. The Department is rightfully considered the ancestor of unmanned aircraft, which has become an integral part of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. Over a decade and a half of painstaking work, the Department has developed the necessary regulatory and technical base, has built an effective structure of unmanned aviation, and has trained specialists for the Armed Forces,” Viktor Khrenin noted.

Close cooperation with defense industry enterprises and organizations makes it possible to have the most modern unmanned aerial systems in service, the minister emphasized. “Today, not a single operational and combat training event of the Armed Forces can do without units operating unmanned aerial complexes, while unmanned aerial vehicles have been put into service in all branches and types of troops,” he added.

Viktor Khrenin wished everyone good health, prosperity and new successes in service and work for the benefit of Belarus.
